Assistant Manager-Payroll Finance

Job Summary

We are looking for an Assistant Manager Payroll Finance to manage end-to-end payroll accounting GL reconciliation, payroll JV preparation, and monthly payroll cost analysis ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely month-end closing.

Role & responsibilities

• Reconcile monthly payroll GL accounts (salary payable, PF/ESI/PT/TDS, bonus accruals, F&F settlements) and resolve mismatches with HR/payroll teams.
• Prepare and post monthly payroll JVs with accurate cost-center/entity-wise allocation within closing timelines.
• Validate statutory deductions, reimbursements, and variable pay components before posting.
• Analyze monthly payroll costs, prepare actual vs. budget variance, and generate cost MIS for management.
• Support budgeting/forecasting cycles with payroll cost inputs and fixed/variable cost breakups.
• Ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS) across payroll accounting.
• Support internal, statutory, and SOX audits with reconciliations and JV backups.
• Coordinate with HR, payroll vendors, and business finance teams on data accuracy and reporting.
• Drive process improvements and automation in reconciliation and JV workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• B.Com/M.Com/MBA (Finance); CA/CMA Inter preferred
• 56 years in payroll finance, GL reconciliation, and month-end close
• Strong knowledge of payroll statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS)
• Hands-on experience with ERP (D365) and payroll systems
• Advanced Excel; Power BI/Power Query is a plus
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage month-end deadlines
