Assistant Manager, Procurement & Material Control

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and execution of procurement strategies.
• Implement purchasing plans and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, address issues, and ensure compliance with contracts.
• To identify new products demands, schedules and procurement needs
• Oversee and manage day-to-day purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• To develop purchasing plan for major material
• Help manage the procurement budget, tracking expenses and ensuring cost control.
• Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing cost-effective solutions.
• Support inventory control by monitoring stock levels and coordinating with other departments to ensure adequate supply.
• To get tax exemption on all taxable materials from local or overseas via documentation which compliance with customs acts regulation
• Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, including spend analysis, supplier performance, and savings achievements.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Extensive experience in procurement or purchasing roles, with at least 5-7 years of experience in a senior or leadership position.
• Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of supply chain management, contract law, procurement best practices, and market trends.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• An engineering background will be added advantage.
