Furthermore, the role focuses on managing tail spend (low-value, high-volume purchases) categories through supplier identification, qualification, and performance management. Consequently, you will ensure cost efficiency, quality compliance, and timely delivery. Key responsibilities also include optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), coordinating with global teams, and supporting negotiations for effective supply chain execution.

About Our Organization

First and foremost, we are a leading manufacturer and supplier of critical raw materials and performance ingredients serving the Life Sciences, Specialty Chemicals, and Agriscience industries.

Specifically, we offer standard and custom ingredients through our rapidly growing portfolio of GMP and non-GMP facilities worldwide, supported by a strong sourcing hub network. Moreover, our unique hybrid model blending manufacturing and global sourcing delivers flexible and reliable solutions for our customers manufacturing requirements. As a result, our operations are backed by industry-leading standards of quality documentation and regulatory compliance.

Key Duties Responsibilities

  • To optimize efficiency, you will manage tail spend procurement through strategic consolidation, cost optimization, and process improvements.
  • Consequently, you will establish and maintain a competitive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for assigned categories.
  • Meanwhile, you will handle sourcing enquiries from global CDMO and Pharma Intermediates teams, ensuring timely and efficient responses.
  • In addition, you will support commercial negotiations, supplier contracts, and logistics coordination to ensure on-time project delivery.
  • Therefore, you will collaborate with RD, Process Development, and Manufacturing teams to align sourcing strategies with project and technical requirements.
  • Regularly, you will monitor market trends, supply risks, and alternative sourcing opportunities related to chemical intermediates and CDMO operations.
  • Finally, you will continuously scan the India and APAC markets to identify niche suppliers, new products, and alternative sources for competitive advantage.

Education Academic Qualifications

  • B.Sc / M.Sc (Chemistry), B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering, or a Graduate / Post-Graduate degree in Chemistry from reputed institutions.
  • In addition, an MBA in Supply Chain or Marketing is an advantage, but not mandatory.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 to 6 years in a global sourcing procurement role, with experience leading sourcing and logistics operations across Indian global markets.
  • Furthermore, relevant supply chain experience within the Pharma intermediate and/or Specialty Chemicals industry is required.
  • Demonstrated strategic sourcing knowledge and hands-on implementation experience.
  • Overall, a solid understanding of global best practices in industry supply chain operations.

Functional Technical Competencies

  • First, the ability to apply strong chemistry knowledge to identify suitable products, processes, and CDMO suppliers in a lean and efficient manner.
  • Second, the ability to combine quick execution with strategic thinking to achieve sourcing goals.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills when engaging with global stakeholders.
  • High curiosity, adaptability, and a strong willingness to continuously learn.
  • Finally, strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
