Assistant Manager Production ( CNC )

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise and lead a team of CNC operators, setters, programmers, and shift supervisors.
• Handle shift rotations, manpower planning, workload distribution, and daily attendance or performance tracking.
• Conduct skill-gap analyses, mentor technicians, and enforce safety and 5S workplace standards.

Technical & Process Oversight

• Interpret complex engineering drawings using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Oversee or handle programming and controls (such as Fanuc, Siemens etc ).
• Drive continuous improvement (Kaizen, Lean) to reduce cycle times, optimize cutting tools, and boost OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
• Assist in New Product Introduction (NPI), process selection, and fixture/jig design.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all production components comply with quality frameworks.
• Lead root-cause analysis (e.g., 8D problem-solving) for machining defects and scrap reduction.
• Coordinate calibration, dimensional checks, and interface with inspection/CMM teams.

Typical Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Experience: 8 to 15 years of progressive experience in precision CNC turning, or machine shop operations, with at least 3 to 5 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial role.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in manual or CAM programming (Mastercam, etc.).
• Deep familiarity with CNC lathe and milling controls (Fanuc, Siemens, etc).
• Strong grip on ERP/SAP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) for production planning

Pay: ₹650,000.00 - ₹850,000.00 per year
