Assistant Manager QA/QC

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – QA/QC (Civil) to manage Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities for a residential building construction project in Chennai. The candidate should have strong experience in construction quality management, site inspections, material testing, quality documentation and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

Candidates with hands-on experience in both QA and QC are required. Experience in residential high-rise construction and Mivan shuttering / aluminium formwork technology will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor project QA/QC plans, procedures and quality standards.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Inspect reinforcement, concrete, formwork, masonry, plastering, waterproofing and finishing works.
• Monitor Mivan shuttering activities, including formwork alignment, dimensions, levels, reinforcement checks and concrete pouring.
• Coordinate concrete cube tests, slump tests, material testing and other quality inspections.
• Review and maintain Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), inspection checklists and test reports.
• Identify quality deviations, coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Conduct site quality audits and verify compliance with approved quality procedures.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants, contractors and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues.
• Verify construction materials against approved specifications before use.
• Monitor workmanship, minimise construction defects and reduce rework.
• Maintain quality records and prepare periodic QA/QC reports for project management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen construction quality and prevent recurring defects.

Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• 8–15 years of experience in civil construction QA/QC.
• Hands-on experience in both Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) is essential.
• Experience in residential building construction, preferably high-rise projects.
• Experience in Mivan shuttering / aluminium formwork technology is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of concrete technology, reinforcement inspection, material testing, quality audits and construction documentation.
• Good coordination, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
