Assistant Manager – QA/QC (Mechanical)

Our client is a global real estate and infrastructure developer with a growing portfolio of hyperscale and colocation data center developments across Asia Pacific. They are looking for an Assistant Manager, QA/QC (Mechanical) to lead mechanical QA/QC activities for regional Data Center projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, OEM requirements, and quality governance from construction through commissioning and handover.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead mechanical QA/QC inspections, surveillance, and quality management across projects.
• Inspect and verify HVAC, chilled water, CRAH/CRAC, DX, AHU/FCU, ventilation, piping, firefighting, fuel systems, supports, and vibration isolation.
• Coordinate and review NDT activities, including UT, RT, welding inspections, hydrotests, and welder qualifications.
• Support testing & commissioning: pressure testing, flushing, TAB, functional testing, IST, and reliability/load testing.
• Manage MIR/WIR, ITPs, NCRs, RFIs, punch lists, testing records, NDT documentation, and handover dossiers.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, ASME, ASTM, ISO 9001, TIA-942, Uptime requirements, and Thailand regulations.
• Support quality audits, risk assessments, NCR/punch closure, lessons learned, and CORA readiness.
• Coordinate with PMC, consultants, contractors, vendors, commissioning teams, and third-party inspectors.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7–10 years of QA/QC experience, including 3–5 years in Data Centers or Mission-Critical projects.
• Strong experience in HVAC, chilled water, mechanical piping, cooling systems, commissioning, welding, and NDT.
• Able to read drawings, P&IDs, schematics, commissioning procedures, and NDT reports.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

• ISO 9001 Auditor.
• ASNT Level II – UT/RT.
• CSWIP/AWS Welding Inspection.
• ASHRAE / Data Center certifications.
• OSHA / NEBOSH.
