Assistant Manager - Quality & Operations

Kamgar Engineering Works India Pvt. Ltd., an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer of engineering products for Indian Railways, Metro projects and PSU clients (RDSO, BHEL, RITES, L&T, NTPC, Coal India), is hiring a smart, computer-proficient science graduate for a combined Quality Control and Operations role.

This is a hands-on position reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will operate our metal analysis spectrometer, run quality inspections, and monitor daily purchase, sales and accounts activity through our in-house software dashboards.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Quality Control & Inspection

• Operate the company's metal analysis spectrometer (full training provided)

• Conduct material testing and maintain accurate test records

• Perform routine dimensional and visual inspections

• Read engineering drawings, specifications and inspection requirements

• Prepare quality control reports and inspection documentation

• Coordinate third-party inspections with RITES, customers and inspection agencies

• Maintain inspection records, calibration schedules and quality documentationOperations Monitoring

• Monitor daily activity across purchase, sales and accounts departments

• Ensure staff update the company's software dashboards correctly and on time

• Review pending work, identify delays and follow up to completion

• Verify accuracy and completeness of operational data

• Provide daily exception-based reports to the Managing Director

Cross-Functional Support

• Assist with purchase orders and supplier follow-ups

• Support sales quotations, customer communication and order tracking

• Help with routine accounts documentation and payment follow-ups

• Maintain continuity when departmental staff are absent

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry or Computer Science (other science graduates with strong computer skills will be considered)

• 2 to 5 years of work experience; manufacturing, QC, laboratory or operations coordination background is an advantage

• Strong computer proficiency - Excel, email, digital documentation and business software

• Analytical ability to spot discrepancies and solve problems logically

• Fast learner on new software and technical equipment

• Disciplined follow-up habits and attention to deadlines

• Willingness to take ownership without repeated supervision

Prior spectrometer experience is desirable but NOT mandatory. Equipment-specific training will be provided.

We weigh intelligence, computer proficiency, learning ability and personal initiative more heavily than years of experience or previous designation.

SELECTION PROCESS

Shortlisted candidates will be assessed on a practical basis rather than on qualifications alone - computer and Excel proficiency, analytical problem-solving, organisational ability, technical aptitude and communication.

GROWTH

Structured 90-day induction covering products, dashboards, spectrometer operation and inspection procedures. Based on demonstrated performance, the role offers progression to Operations Manager with broader supervisory responsibility.
