Assistant Manager - Restaurant

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including supervising staff shifts and ensuring smooth service flow
• Lead staff training initiatives to uphold service standards, food safety protocols, and operational procedures
• Oversee food preparation, cooking processes, and food handling to guarantee quality and compliance with safety regulations
• Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation
• Monitor inventory control to minimize waste, manage stock levels, and coordinate procurement efforts
• Supervise kitchen management activities including food production, culinary quality, and sanitation standards
• Support management in budgeting, profit and loss analysis, and implementing cost-control measures
• Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, team management, and conflict resolution
• Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to enhance guest satisfaction

Requirements

• Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with a strong background in food preparation and cooking
• Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience within the hospitality or food industry
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for transactions and reporting
• Knowledge of inventory control practices, food safety management, and kitchen operations
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage diverse teams effectively
• Excellent communication skills for managerial tasks including interviewing, staff training, and customer service interactions
• Basic math skills for cash handling, order accuracy, and financial analysis
• Experience in managing hospitality teams with a focus on team leadership and development
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Knowledge of food industry standards including catering, banquet service, bar operations or casual dining experience is a plus
