What they need

Ready to take the next step in restaurant leadership?

Seoulful Bites is a family-owned restaurant creating a new kind of fast-casual dining experience in Reno.

We’re Reno’s First Korean Instant Ramen Bar, inspired by the energy and culture of Korean convenience stores. Guests choose their ramen, build their bowl with fresh toppings, cook it themselves, and enjoy the experience with friends.

We’re looking for an Assistant Manager who is ready to take the next step in leadership — someone who is excited to learn our business, lead our team, take great care of our customers, and help make Seoulful Bites successful.

We’re a young business, and we’re still learning and improving. We have a clear vision for the experience we want to create and have developed systems and processes to support it, but we expect those systems to continue evolving as we gain experience.

We want someone who can learn how we operate today, execute it consistently, and also help us make it better. We welcome ideas, observations, and constructive suggestions from the people doing the work every day. Good ideas can come from anywhere on the team, and we believe the people who contribute them should be heard and recognized.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with our Managers and ownership while learning all aspects of the day-to-day operation of Seoulful Bites.

You won’t be expected to know everything on day one or make every decision independently. You’ll have support from our Managers and ownership as you learn the operation, with greater responsibility and independence as you grow in the role.

Your most important responsibilities will be our customers and our team.

We want every guest to feel welcome, receive the help they need, enjoy their experience, and want to come back. You’ll set that standard personally and help ensure the entire team delivers it consistently.

You’ll also provide day-to-day leadership for our employees — making sure they understand what is expected, have the training and support they need, work effectively together, and remain focused on taking care of our customers.

We expect initiative. When something needs attention, we want an Assistant Manager who notices it, takes appropriate action, and follows through. Good judgment also means knowing when to make a decision yourself and when a situation should be brought to a Manager or ownership.

We also want someone who notices when there may be a better way to do something and is comfortable bringing that idea forward.

You won’t be expected simply to follow procedures without question, nor will you be expected to redesign the operation on your own. We want you to understand what we’re trying to accomplish, learn how we currently do it, contribute your experience and ideas, and work with management and ownership as our systems continue to improve.

As you demonstrate your ability to lead the team, serve our customers, solve problems, and consistently execute our operations, you’ll have the opportunity to take on greater independence and responsibility and grow into a Manager role.

What You’ll Do

  • Learn Seoulful Bites’ operations, systems, standards, and approach to customer service
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the restaurant team
  • Help ensure our procedures and operating standards are followed consistently
  • Create a welcoming guest experience that encourages customers to return
  • Engage with customers, understand their needs, answer questions, and resolve concerns professionally
  • Lead by example and establish high standards for hospitality, teamwork, reliability, and accountability
  • Train, coach, and support employees so they can perform their roles confidently and effectively
  • Make sure the team remains focused, productive, and attentive to customers throughout each shift
  • Assist with scheduling, opening and closing procedures, inventory, cleanliness, and other daily operational responsibilities
  • Identify problems early, take appropriate action, and bring significant issues, ideas, and opportunities for improvement to management
  • Support the rollout of new procedures, promotions, and operational changes and provide feedback on how they’re working
  • Be willing to jump in wherever needed, including customer service, the restaurant floor, light food preparation, and basic kitchen tasks

Who We’re Looking For

Experience matters, but attitude, leadership potential, and willingness to learn matter just as much.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is ready to take the next step into restaurant management and wants to grow into greater responsibility
  • Is genuinely interested in learning how we operate Seoulful Bites
  • Takes direction well while also being comfortable offering constructive ideas
  • Learns quickly and can turn training into consistent action
  • Takes pride in creating customers who want to come back
  • Enjoys interacting with people and helping customers have a great experience
  • Can lead a team while also being willing to work alongside it
  • Can hold employees accountable in a fair, respectful, and consistent way
  • Communicates openly with employees, Managers, and ownership
  • Knows when to make a decision and when to ask for guidance
  • Is dependable, organized, and attentive to details
  • Is enthusiastic about helping a local family business succeed
  • Has flexible availability and is able to work a combination of daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as business needs require

Previous restaurant leadership, supervisory, or management experience is strongly preferred.

A valid ServSafe Food Manager certification is required or must be obtained within 5 days of hire, subject to exam availability.

How We Work

We value input from everyone on our team. If you see a better way to do something, we want to hear it. If one of your team members has a great idea, we want you to encourage them to share it. And when someone helps us make Seoulful Bites better, we believe their contribution should be recognized.

At the same time, ownership remains actively involved in the business and responsible for its overall direction. Management and ownership will make the final decisions about which ideas we adopt and how our systems and standards evolve.

That gives us what we think is an important balance: clear direction without closed minds, and room for initiative without uncertainty about responsibility.

As you master the operation and demonstrate good judgment, we expect you to take on increasing responsibility in the day-to-day restaurant — leading the team, supporting our customers, solving problems, and helping us continually improve.

Our goal is to develop the right Assistant Manager into a Manager who can confidently and independently run day-to-day restaurant operations within the direction and standards established by ownership.

Physical Requirements

This is an active restaurant role that requires extended periods of standing and walking and the ability to perform routine restaurant tasks, including stocking, cleaning, light food preparation, and lifting supplies as needed, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

What We Offer

  • Full-time position -- approximately 40 hours/week
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Direct training and collaboration with management and ownership
  • A meaningful leadership role in a growing local restaurant
  • The opportunity to learn every aspect of the operation
  • A genuine voice in helping us improve how the restaurant works
  • Increasing responsibility and independence as you master the role
  • A clear opportunity to grow into a Manager position

Interested?

Send us your resume and a brief introduction.

We’d especially like to hear why you’re ready to take the next step in leadership, what you enjoy about leading a team, and how you approach turning a first-time customer into someone who wants to come back.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
