Assistant Manager - Restaurant

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service during all shifts
• Lead and motivate the team to deliver outstanding customer experiences through effective supervision and training
• Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food handling processes to uphold quality standards and safety regulations
• Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and reducing waste
• Operate POS systems for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
• Supervise staff scheduling, shift management, and ensure proper staffing levels for peak times
• Conduct staff training sessions on food safety, customer service, food production, and operational procedures
• Support management in budgeting, cost control, and maintaining profitability goals
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and uphold cleanliness standards across the kitchen and dining areas
• Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels

Requirements

• Proven experience in restaurant management or assistant management roles within quick service & fast food or casual dining environments
• Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
• Familiarity with POS systems for efficient cash handling and sales processing
• Demonstrated supervising experience with team management, staff training & development, and interviewing skills
• Knowledge of inventory control, food management, budgeting, and food production processes
• Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced setting
• Experience with kitchen management, hospitality management, and food service operations
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities including shift management, customer service excellence, and food handling standards
• Hospitality or hotel experience is a plus; culinary experience or pizza experience is advantageous
• Strong communication skills with a focus on training & development and fostering teamwork

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
