What they need
Assistant Manager, The Brickhouse Restaurant & Function Facility (Eastham, MA)
About Us
The Brickhouse is a Caribbean-inspired seafood and grill on State Highway in Eastham. We run a lively 110-seat dining room and a 45-seat private function room that hosts weddings, rehearsal dinners, parties and corporate events. We're a busy, close-knit team on Cape Cod, and we're looking for a hands-on leader who loves hospitality as much as we do.
The Role
As Assistant Manager, you'll work alongside ownership to run daily operations across dine-in, takeout and private events. You'll lead the floor, develop the team, keep standards high and help drive profitability. The busiest stretch is peak season, June through September. If you do well in a fast-paced, high-volume setting and want real ownership of the results, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Run shifts and help run daily operations: opening and closing, staff scheduling, and keeping service moving from the first seating to last call.
- Hire, train, coach and motivate front-of-house staff so the team performs at a high level.
- Partner with the chef on food quality, consistency, ticket times and kitchen communication.
- Manage Toast POS operations, including order flow, cash handling, end-of-night reconciliation and sales reporting.
- Oversee inventory and ordering for the bar and front of house, and work with the kitchen and Bar to control waste and costs.
- Enforce food safety, sanitation and alcohol service standards that meet Massachusetts and Town of Eastham health regulations.
- Handle guest concerns promptly and professionally so every guest leaves wanting to come back.
- Support private events and functions, from walkthroughs and BEO review to event-day execution and client follow-up.
- Help with budgeting, labor management, P&L review and cost-control initiatives.
- Work with ownership on marketing, promotions, special events and off-season revenue ideas.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of supervisory or assistant manager experience in full-service, high-volume restaurants.
- Banquet, catering or function experience is a strong plus.
- Toast POS experience is a plus. We'll train you on our systems.
- ServSafe Manager and TIPS/ServSafe Alcohol certifications preferred. Don't have them yet? We'll train and certify you.
- Strong skills in team leadership, training and resolving conflicts.
- A solid grasp of shift management, inventory, labor and P&L.
- Clear, confident communication with staff, guests and event clients.
- Composure under pressure during peak summer volume.
- Availability for nights, weekends and holidays.
Why The Brickhouse
We're invested in growing our people, and we will train the right candidate. If you have strong leadership instincts and a great work ethic, we'll teach you the rest: our systems, our menu, and how we run private events. You'll get a direct line to ownership and room to take on more responsibility as you prove yourself. Every season on the Cape brings new challenges, and we want leaders who are excited to meet them.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Employee discount
