Assistant Manager - Restaurant

Job Summary

Kouraku Japanese Ramen & Grill is seeking a dependable, organized, and guest-focused Assistant Manager - Restaurant to support daily restaurant operations and help lead the team during service. The ideal candidate will assist with staff coordination, guest service, food quality, cleanliness, inventory, and operational procedures while helping maintain an efficient and welcoming dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant Manager with daily restaurant operations
• Supervise and support front-of-house and kitchen team members
• Help coordinate staff assignments and daily service responsibilities
• Welcome guests and promote friendly, professional hospitality
• Monitor food quality, presentation, portion standards, and order accuracy
• Handle guest questions, requests, and concerns professionally
• Assist with employee scheduling and shift coordination
• Train, coach, and support new and existing team members
• Ensure employees follow restaurant policies and operating procedures
• Monitor cleanliness, organization, sanitation, and safety standards
• Follow and reinforce food safety and workplace safety procedures
• Monitor food, beverage, packaging, and restaurant supply inventory
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and organizing deliveries
• Support POS operations, cash handling, and daily transaction procedures
• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Help maintain efficient service during busy periods
• Communicate staffing, inventory, and operational concerns to the Restaurant Manager
• Complete administrative and management duties as assigned

Requirements

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, supervisory, or food-service experience is preferred
• Previous assistant manager or shift-lead experience is an asset
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Strong attention to detail and service quality
• Ability to handle guest concerns calmly and professionally
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, and sanitation procedures
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash-handling procedures
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week

Work Location: In person
