Assistant Manager – Part-Time

$25/hour | 2–3 Shifts Per Week | Sundays Required

The Cigar Box Bar & Lounge is looking for a dependable, hospitality-focused part-time Assistant Manager to help lead our Westfield location.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bartender, server, shift lead, or hospitality professional who is ready to take the next step into management—or an experienced manager who wants a leadership role without committing to a traditional full-time management schedule.

This is a hands-on leadership position. Our managers don't simply supervise from the sidelines. They lead by example, interact with guests, support the team during busy periods, solve problems, coach employees, and take ownership of the overall operation during their shifts.

Schedule & Compensation

$25 per hour

This is a part-time position averaging 2–3 shifts per week.

Sunday availability is required. Additional shifts will generally include evenings and/or weekends based on business needs.

We're looking for someone with dependable availability who can consistently work their scheduled shifts.

What You'll Do

As the Manager on Duty, you'll be responsible for leading the operation during your assigned shifts, including:

• Leading and supporting bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff
• Setting the standard for exceptional guest service
• Working alongside the team during busy periods
• Coaching employees and providing constructive, real-time feedback
• Monitoring the flow of the lounge and adjusting priorities as needed
• Handling guest concerns professionally and making sound decisions
• Overseeing reservations and large parties
• Ensuring POS, tab, payment, and cash-handling procedures are followed
• Ensuring opening, closing, cleanliness, and operational procedures are completed correctly
• Maintaining our standards for atmosphere, organization, and product presentation
• Identifying and communicating operational, staffing, inventory, or maintenance issues
• Providing ownership and management with clear feedback about each shift

What We're Looking For

We're primarily looking for leadership potential, hospitality experience, dependability, and good judgment.

Ideal candidates will have:

• 2+ years of restaurant, bar, hospitality, or customer-service experience
• Previous shift-lead, supervisory, training, or management experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attendance and punctuality
• The ability to remain calm and organized during busy shifts
• Confidence addressing employee or guest issues when necessary
• A willingness to jump in and help wherever needed
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Reliable transportation
• Consistent Sunday availability

You don't need to be an Assistant Manager to be considered.

If you're a strong bartender, server, or hospitality professional who naturally takes initiative, helps lead the people around you, and is ready for greater responsibility, we'd like to talk with you.

Experience with cigars, bourbon, whiskey, or premium spirits is helpful but not required. We can teach product knowledge.
