Assistant Manager - Restaurant

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service during all shifts and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
• Lead, motivate, and supervise staff members to deliver outstanding customer experiences while fostering a positive team environment.
• Manage food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and adherence to food safety regulations.
• Handle POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and transaction accuracy.
• Control inventory levels through regular stock checks, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize profitability.
• Train new staff members on food handling, customer service protocols, POS usage, and restaurant procedures.
• Assist in managing budgets, analyzing profit and loss statements, and implementing strategies for revenue growth.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards related to food safety management and sanitation practices.
• Support shift management by coordinating schedules, managing labor costs, and resolving operational issues promptly.
• Participate in hiring processes including interviewing candidates to build a strong hospitality team with excellent culinary and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant management with a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience with team management, staff training, and leadership capabilities.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS along with cash handling expertise.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, inventory control practices, and food industry standards including casual dining or fine dining environments.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills suitable for managerial communication and team leadership roles.
• Experience in managing hospitality teams within a restaurant or catering setting is highly desirable.
• Basic math skills for budgeting, profit analysis, and transaction accuracy are essential.
• A background in culinary arts or hospitality management will be advantageous for success in this role.
