Assistant Manager - Restaurant

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, ensuring all aspects of service run seamlessly from food preparation to customer interactions
• Supervise and motivate staff, including conducting training sessions, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive team environment
• Oversee food safety protocols, proper food handling, and sanitation standards to comply with health regulations
• Manage inventory control, including stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to maximize profitability
• Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation
• Support shift management by coordinating staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours
• Monitor food production processes to maintain quality standards in casual dining, fine dining, catering, or banquet settings
• Assist with budgeting, profit and loss analysis, and implementing cost-control measures to improve operational efficiency
• Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and maintaining high service standards
• Lead by example in supervising food preparation, cooking techniques, and overall kitchen management

Experience

• Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with a strong background in food preparation and kitchen operations
• Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience within the food industry is highly preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for sales transactions and inventory management
• Hands-on experience with food safety management practices and compliance with health regulations
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively through training & development initiatives and managing hospitality teams
• Strong understanding of restaurant management principles including shift management, budgeting, and profit & loss analysis
• Experience working in casual dining or fine dining settings with knowledge of catering or banquet operations is advantageous
• Excellent managerial communication skills coupled with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining attention to detail in high-pressure situations
