Assistant Manager - Restaurant

Duties

• Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including staff scheduling, shift management, and ensuring service standards are met.
• Lead and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service, fostering a positive and energetic work environment.
• Supervise food preparation and food handling processes to maintain high quality and safety standards.
• Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize profitability.
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Train new staff members on food safety protocols, customer service techniques, and operational procedures to ensure consistent performance.
• Conduct staff training sessions on food production, kitchen management, and hospitality best practices.
• Support management in analyzing profit and loss reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across all areas of the restaurant.
• Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to guarantee a positive dining experience.

Requirements

• Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety management.
• Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience within the food industry is essential; managerial communication skills are a must.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Toast POS for cash handling and transaction accuracy.
• Knowledge of inventory control, budgeting, and profit & loss analysis to support operational efficiency.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing hospitality teams, supervising staff training, and conducting interviews.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service skills combined with effective team management abilities.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, inventory counting, and financial analysis.
• Culinary or kitchen management experience is highly desirable; casual dining or banquet experience is a plus.
