The Assistant Manager will be responsible for supporting the restaurant manager in overseeing food quality, safety standards, staff training, and operational efficiency to foster a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and team members.

Duties

• Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including shift management and supervising staff to ensure smooth service flow.
• Lead staff training initiatives on food preparation, food safety, POS systems (Toast Pos), and customer service standards.
• Oversee food handling, food production, and kitchen management to maintain high-quality culinary standards aligned with health regulations.
• Manage inventory control processes, including stock ordering, waste reduction, and food safety compliance.
• Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems, perform cash handling duties, and reconcile registers at shift end.
• Support hiring efforts through interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members while fostering a positive team environment.
• Monitor restaurant performance through profit and loss analysis, budgeting, and implementing strategies for increased profitability.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the establishment.
• Promote teamwork by supervising staff schedules, conducting performance reviews, and encouraging professional development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food industry operations.
• Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience within casual dining or fine dining settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with POS Toast and experience with cash handling is a huge bonus.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, food safety management, and kitchen operations.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train staff effectively and manage hospitality teams confidently.
• Solid understanding of restaurant management principles including shift management, and customer service excellence.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members and customers; managerial communication skills are vital.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and analyzing financial data accurately.
• A passion for hospitality combined with a proactive attitude toward team training & development and operational excellence.

Pay: $41,600.00 - $52,000.00 per year
