Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, service flow, and staff management to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
• Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and development initiatives to uphold high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service.
• Manage shift schedules, coordinate staffing levels, and supervise team performance to optimize productivity during busy hours.
• Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste while ensuring food safety standards are met.
• Oversee cash handling procedures and reconcile daily sales using Toast POS.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and sanitation standards through regular inspections and staff training on proper food handling techniques.
• Support budgeting efforts by tracking expenses, controlling costs, and implementing strategies to maximize profitability.
• Assist in interviewing prospective staff members, conducting onboarding sessions, and supporting ongoing staff training programs.
• Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly with professionalism to enhance guest satisfaction.
• Collaborate with management on marketing initiatives, special events like banquets or catering services, and overall restaurant branding efforts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food service management or hospitality management roles with a strong background in supervising teams within upscale or fine dining atmosphere.
• Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, kitchen management, and culinary operations.
• Hands-on experience with POS system transaction processing and sales reconciliation.
• Demonstrated ability in inventory control, food safety compliance, and food handling procedures.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in staff training, development, interviewing, and performance management.
• Excellent hospitality skills with the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes and cost control strategies to support operational efficiency.
• Ability to manage shift schedules efficiently while maintaining high standards of hospitality and food quality.
• Knowledge of the food industry’s best practices for safety standards and cleanliness protocols.
• Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience preferred; leadership qualities that inspire teamwork are essential.
