Assistant Manager - Restaurant

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, shift management, and ensuring smooth service flow
• Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing work environment
• Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards, food safety regulations, and proper handling procedures
• Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to maximize profitability
• Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation with accuracy and integrity
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols across all areas of the restaurant
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to guarantee an outstanding dining experience
• Support budgeting efforts by analyzing profit and loss statements and implementing strategies for operational efficiency
• Supervise kitchen operations, including food production, catering services, banquet events, and bar service when applicable
• Participate in staff recruitment through interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members

Experience

• Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience within the food industry or hospitality sector
• Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety management practices
• Hands-on experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and profit & loss analysis effectively
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing hospitality teams in casual dining or fine dining environments
• Background in managing kitchen operations, catering events, or banquet services is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to train staff and foster teamwork in a fast-paced setting
• Familiarity with food handling regulations, sanitation standards, and health & safety protocols
