Assistant Manager - Restaurant

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team in leading daily operations within a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, culinary knowledge, and exceptional customer service abilities. Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including food service management, kitchen management, and hospitality functions
• Supervise staff training, development, and scheduling to ensure efficient shift management and excellent customer service
• Manage inventory control, food safety protocols, and food handling procedures to maintain compliance with health standards
• Oversee food production processes including cooking, catering, banquet service, and bar operations
• Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for cash handling, order processing, and sales reporting
• Monitor quality standards in food preparation and presentation across all service areas
• Lead staff recruitment efforts including interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members
• Assist with budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency
• Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with safety regulations

Requirements

• Proven management experience within the food industry or hospitality sector; assistant manager experience preferred
• Extensive knowledge of food safety standards, food handling practices, and kitchen management
• Hands-on experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS
• Strong leadership skills with experience supervising teams in quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining settings
• Background in culinary arts or food preparation; fine dining or catering experience is a plus
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest interactions professionally
• Ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and staff training & development effectively
• Experience with shift management, restaurant operations, and hospitality management principles
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interview candidates and lead staff meetings
• Knowledge of food production processes including cooking techniques and food presentation standards
• Hospitality management background with experience overseeing bar services or hotel-related food operations is advantageous

Pay: $73,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
