Assistant Manager/ Shift In charge

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for startup, shutdown and smooth, efficient and safe running of plant and to maximize quality product and control of raw material consumption as per norms.

• To organize and administer the manpower required in the shift.

• To check analysis reports received from quality control lab and ensure corrective action.

• To ensure raw material feeders are calibrated by instrument department periodically.

• To coordinate with RMS in-charge and ensure reprocessing of the product from bagging, other areas and to ensure quality of the final products.

• To ensure the raw material feeding system ok for feeding raw material.

• To issue cold work permits for the jobs in the shift.

• To prepare and update shut down job list and follow the jobs with maintenance.

• To raise maintenance work order and follow up maintenance jobs in the shift.

• Responsible for safety of man, machine and materials of the plants.

• Directing, guiding, motivating and facilitating training of subordinate worker under me.

• Taking all necessary steps to minimize the wastage and increasing specific consumption without compromising with the quality of the product.

• Handles fire extinguishers in emergencies.

• Uses good judgment in caring for his area.

• Trains or directs the training of the unit personnel in safety or operating procedures.

• Responsible for smooth operation of plants to meet the budgeted target of the production.

• Responsible for producing quality fertilizer meeting FCO norms.

Responsible for prevention of environmental pollution while operating plants.
