Assistant Manager - Stores

Role & responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day store operations at Water JJM project sites, including receipt, storage, issue and movement of materials.
• Plan and monitor material requirements based on project schedules and site requirements.
• Receive materials, verify quantities and specifications against POs, delivery challans and invoices, and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain accurate stock records, inventory registers and material reconciliation through ERP/MIS systems.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure timely availability of critical materials to avoid project delays.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Project, Planning, Finance and Site teams for material requirements, deliveries and inventory control.
• Implement proper material storage, identification, preservation and handling practices at project stores.
• Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconciliation, investigate discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Monitor slow-moving, excess and damaged materials and coordinate for appropriate action.
• Prepare MIS reports, inventory statements and material consumption reports for project management and support audits.

Preferred candidate profile

• 610 years of experience in Stores/Inventory Management, preferably in Water, JJM, EPC or Infrastructure Projects.
• Hands-on experience managing project/site stores, material receipt, storage, issue, inventory control and reconciliation.
• Experience handling pipes, fittings, valves, pumps, electrical items, construction materials and project consumables will be preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/SAP, inventory management, MIS reporting and stock audits.
• Good coordination and communication skills with Procurement, Project, Planning, Finance and Site teams, with willingness to work at project locations.
