Location: Richmond, South West London

Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Approximately £30,000, depending on experience, plus commission and uniform benefits.

We are seeking a commercially minded Assistant Manager / Supervisor to join an independent womenswear boutique in the heart of Richmond. With a beautifully curated edit of contemporary designer fashion, the boutique brings together timeless style, understated luxury and considered design, creating a distinctive shopping experience for a loyal clientele who appreciate quality, craftsmanship and a personal touch.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on fashion retail professional who loves building relationships, has a natural eye for styling and is ready to take ownership of a boutique, inspire a close-knit team and contribute to the continued success of an established independent business.

The Role

• Lead by example on the shop floor, delivering an exceptional, personalised shopping experience while driving sales and achieving commercial targets.
• Support the day-to-day management of a team of approximately six, fostering a positive, collaborative environment and maintaining high standards.
• Nurture the boutique’s loyal clientele through thoughtful clienteling, considered styling advice and meaningful, long-term relationships.
• Bring collections to life through strong product knowledge, effortless outfit building and engaging brand storytelling.
• Maintain impeccable store presentation and visual merchandising, ensuring the boutique reflects the quality and character of its collections.
• Identify opportunities to grow the business through client engagement, local networking and creative sales initiatives.
• Work closely with the business owner, bringing fresh ideas, taking initiative and helping shape the boutique’s ongoing success.

About You

• Previous fashion retail experience, ideally within a premium, designer or luxury womenswear environment.
• Experience at Supervisor, Senior Sales Associate or Assistant Manager level, with the confidence to lead and support a team.
• A natural people person who enjoys understanding clients, building genuine relationships and delivering thoughtful, personalised service.
• A strong eye for styling, with a genuine appreciation for contemporary design, timeless pieces and beautifully crafted fashion.
• Commercially driven, with the ability to achieve sales targets, recognise opportunities and contribute to business growth.
• Proactive, resourceful and hands-on, with the initiative and confidence to make the store your own.
• Polished, personable and passionate about creating an elevated shopping experience.
• Ideally based in Richmond or the surrounding South West or West London area, with an appreciation for the local community and clientele.
