Assistant Manager, Technical Support (Mechanical Application)

About the role

Provide advanced mechanical-application support through design review, engineering calculations, component selection and sizing, and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer machine and assembly drawings, operating conditions and technical requirements.
• Perform load, speed, torque, service-life and safety-factor calculations.
• Select and size linear guides, ball screws, actuators, motors, cylinders, couplings, bearings, timing belts and positioning mechanisms.
• Assess feasibility, compatibility, application risk and component integration.
• Propose suitable alternative products or design approaches.
• Attend customer visits and coordinate with suppliers or overseas technical teams to resolve enquiries.
• Develop technical references and training materials.

About you

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Mechanical design, application engineering or machine-design experience in factory automation.
• Practical experience in component selection, sizing and engineering calculations.
• Able to interpret mechanical and assembly drawings and customer machine requirements.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or equivalent design software.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical application or integration issues.
• Demonstrate potential to guide junior engineers, review calculations and recommendations, coordinate complex cases and establish application standards.
