Assistant Manager Transport and Logistics

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager Transport & Logistics to manage transportation, fleet operations, route planning, dispatch coordination and logistics activities for dairy operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily transportation and logistics operations for milk and dairy products.
• Plan and monitor vehicle deployment, routes and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate transportation of raw milk, finished products, materials and other consignments.
• Monitor milk tanker and vehicle operations, including collection and delivery schedules.
• Ensure timely and efficient dispatch and distribution of dairy products.
• Coordinate with Milk Procurement, Production, Warehouse, Sales and Dispatch teams.
• Monitor vehicle availability, utilization, breakdowns and maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate with transport contractors, drivers and logistics service providers.
• Monitor fuel consumption, transportation cost, vehicle expenses and route efficiency.
• Ensure proper documentation including trip sheets, delivery documents, vehicle records and transporter bills.
• Track vehicle movement and ensure timely delivery to assigned destinations.
• Handle transportation-related issues, delays, breakdowns and emergency situations.
• Monitor compliance with vehicle documents, permits, insurance, fitness and statutory requirements.
• Verify transporter bills and maintain logistics-related records and MIS.
• Identify opportunities to reduce transportation cost and improve operational efficiency.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly logistics reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety standards and operational procedures.
• Lead and supervise the transport and logistics team.

Candidate Profile:

Candidates should have 10+ years of experience in Transport & Logistics, preferably in the Dairy, FMCG or Food Processing industry, with hands-on experience in fleet management, transportation planning, dispatch and distribution operations.
