Assistant Manager Transportation

Role & responsibilities

• Ensure Vehicles Attendance and reporting times as per the Roster set by the customer.
• Ensure grooming standards and other requirements mandatory requirements like vehicle documents, uniform, shoes etc for all drivers.
• Get hands on experience of the operations through regular visit to the hands and highlight challenges if any to all relevant Internal/External Stakeholders
• Collaborate with the Supply team and build sufficient pipeline of Drivers.
• Provide Trip sheets to all the vehicles
• Ensure proper Onboarding, Driver Registration and Documentation collection of all drivers
• Ensure all data like Trip Sheets, Vehicle Spread, On Demand data are up to date.
• Bring efficiency and optimisation by effective use of technology like Station App , Driver App
• Ensure submission of invoices along with all supporting documents by 5th Of every Month
• Follow up on Outstanding collection from the customer
• Fleet Management Daily / weekly monitoring of company fleet to achieve targeted business as well as cost as per AOP.
• Monitoring weekly reconciliation of accounts with customers to keep track of actual o/s and daily follow up for recovery.
• Time to time arrange for operations training to staff to boost their knowledge and increase performance level.
• Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transport companies and customers.
• Negotiate rates and finalising contracts with transporters and service providers.
• Design and implement optimal transport modes, routes and frequency to achieve highest level of operational efficiency within budget.
• Manage escalations and take corrective measures to avoid repeated mistakes/operational failures
• Provide timely feedback and communication to customers.
• Ensure achievement of defined KPIs in accordance with organizational goals and departmental objectives.
• Monitor and review the Transporters performance and addressing the bottlenecks. Actively participating in customer reviews and addressing the issues through PDCA.
