Assistant Manager Vendor Development

Role & Responsibilities :

• Lead new vendor development for castings, forgings, fabricated parts, machined components, and electrical components.
• Coordinate cross-functionally to qualify new components, resolve production issues, and develop suppliers for cost reduction and capacity enhancement.
• Manage customer-specific requirements and provide technical support across multiple project phases.
• Drive supplier quality initiatives including APQP, PPAP, audits, and process conformance.Handle cost estimation, negotiation with suppliers, and support Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) activities.
• Support new product launches by ensuring supplier readiness and milestone adherence.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define process parameters and ensure supplier capability meets design and manufacturing requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance, ensure adherence to timelines, and manage end-to-end procurement cycle (P2P).
• Provide technical expertise to customers and resolve product-related issues, including testing and validation support.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated with evolving manufacturing and quality trends.

Key Skills Required:

• Diploma/BE/B Tech Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics
• Minimum 5-8 Years experience of Vendor Development for New Projects/NPD
• Should have good skills of costing and negotiate cost with supplier along with required quality level.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering discipline, and quality processes.
• Technical background, with ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD Models.
• Proven experience as a vendor development personnel
• Excellent interpersonal skills
