Assistant Manager - Warehouse

We are hiring a Assistant Manager - Warehouse to take full ownership of warehousing and inventory operations at our Ipoh agrochemical manufacturing plant.

You will lead a team of Warehouse Executives and warehouse personnel, with end-to-end accountability for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods — covering inventory accuracy, chemical storage compliance, dispatch performance, and slow-moving stock management.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants visibility, autonomy, and a direct line to top management.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full custodial ownership of all stock at the Ipoh plant — raw materials, packaging, and finished goods — ensuring book stock reconciles to physical stock at all times
• Lead daily and weekly cycle counts, half-yearly full stock takes, and variance investigations with Finance and external auditors
• Own the monthly Slow-Moving and Obsolete (SLOB) stock report to the MD and Finance, including ageing analysis, shelf-life tracking, and recommendations for disposal, rework, or commercial action
• Manage end-to-end receiving, put away, issuance to production, and dispatch to customers — ensuring FIFO/FEFO discipline, batch traceability, and on-time-in-full delivery
• Ensure full compliance with chemical storage regulations under OSHA 1994, CLASS Regulations 2013, and Pesticides Act 1974, including segregation of incompatible chemicals, bunding, ventilation, and spill containment
• Lead, develop, and discipline a mixed local and foreign worker team
• Drive warehouse productivity, layout optimization, ERP transactional discipline, and 5S / continuous improvement initiatives
• Serve as the primary plant interface for internal audit, statutory audit, and regulatory inspections relating to warehousing
• Halt any stock movement that fails documentation, QC release, or safety standards — and escalate directly to the MD on matters affecting inventory integrity, safety, or compliance

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5years of warehouse and inventory management experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or junior managerial capacity in a manufacturing environment
• Strong preference for candidates from chemical, agrochemical, pharmaceutical, FMCG, or other regulated manufacturing sectors
• Hands-on ERP experience
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1994, CLASS Regulations 2013, Pesticides Act 1974, and Customs documentation
• DOSH-recognized safety training (Safety & Health Committee level or higher) preferred; Forklift Competency and First Aider certification advantageous
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English
• Strong people leadership, particularly in managing mixed local-foreign worker teams
