Assistant Manager/Cake Decorator

Overview

Sweet Lucy's Ice Cream & Bakery (Sugar Empire) is looking for an experienced, motivated, and creative Assistant Manager / Cake Decorator to join our leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who loves both the artistic side of cake decorating and the operational side of running a successful ice cream shop and bakery.

Our Assistant Manager plays a key role in the day-to-day success of the business by leading our team, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of quality, and creating beautiful custom ice cream cakes and desserts. We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is excited to grow with a locally owned company.

Responsibilities

• Decorate custom cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other specialty desserts
• Manage custom cake orders from consultation through completion
• Assist with daily bakery and ice cream order production and inventory management
• Lead, coach, and support team members during each shift
• Open and close the store while ensuring operational excellence
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety
• Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally
• Assist with scheduling, training, and developing staff
• Monitor product quality and presentation throughout the day
• Help manage inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
• Collaborate with ownership and management on seasonal products, promotions, and new menu items
• Support overall store operations and step into any role when needed

Qualifications

• Previous professional cake decorating experience requested
• Previous management or leadership experience preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
• Ability to work independently while leading a team
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

Pay: $15.00 - $28.00 per hour
