Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Merchandiser to support product development, sampling, buyer coordination, and order execution for soft plush toys. The candidate will coordinate with Design, Sampling, Production, Procurement, Quality, and Logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries, product quality, and compliance with buyer requirements.

Candidates with experience in soft toys, plush manufacturing, home textiles, home furnishing, apparel, or other soft goods industries are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Development & Sampling

• Assist with buyer inquiries, product development, and order execution for soft plush toys.
• Coordinate with Design and Sampling teams for prototypes, development samples, and approval samples.
• Follow up on sample development and ensure timely buyer approvals.
• Maintain sample tracking records and approval status.

2. Buyer Coordination

• Coordinate with buyers regarding sample approvals, order status, and design changes.
• Respond to buyer queries and provide regular order updates.
• Maintain effective communication between buyers and internal teams.

3. Order Execution & Production Follow-up

• Coordinate with Production, Procurement, and Quality teams to ensure timely order execution.
• Prepare and maintain Time & Action (T&A) calendars for ongoing orders.
• Monitor order milestones and escalate delays or execution issues to the senior merchandising team.
• Ensure orders meet buyer specifications and committed delivery timelines.

4. Raw Material & Vendor Coordination

• Support raw material planning and sourcing according to product specifications.
• Coordinate the sourcing of fabrics, fillings, trims, accessories, and other production materials.
• Follow up with vendors and sourcing teams to ensure timely material availability.

5. Costing & Commercial Coordination

• Assist with product costing and price negotiations.
• Collect costing inputs from sourcing and production teams.
• Maintain costing records and share relevant information on time.

6. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure products meet defined quality standards and buyer requirements.
• Coordinate with the Quality team on inspections and quality-related concerns.
• Support compliance with buyer-specific requirements and international toy safety standards, including EN71 and ASTM.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain merchandising documents, including:
• PI Sheets and Order Sheets
• Bill of Materials (BOMs)
• Sample Tracking Sheets
• Sample Approval Records
• Time & Action (T&A) Calendars
• Ensure all merchandising records are accurate and up to date.

8. Shipment & Logistics Coordination

• Coordinate with Logistics teams for shipment planning and dispatch schedules.
• Track order readiness and support timely shipment execution.
• Ensure required documentation and approvals are completed before dispatch.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Basic product costing and commercial coordination.
• Time & Action planning and order tracking.
• Merchandising documentation and MIS maintenance.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Strong communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple orders under pressure.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience & Candidate Requirements

• 2–4 years of relevant merchandising experience.
• Experience in soft toys, plush manufacturing, home textiles, home furnishing, apparel, or soft goods is preferred.
• Understanding of fabrics, fillings, trims, accessories, and other materials used in plush toy manufacturing.
• Knowledge of EN71 and ASTM toy safety standards will be an added advantage.
• Experience in export-oriented manufacturing and international buyer coordination is preferred.
• Candidates with hands-on experience in sampling, product development, costing, and production follow-up will be given preference.
