Assistant / Merchandiser – Fabric

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Merchandiser to join our partner buying office. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and developing fabrics, trims, and accessories that are essential to the product development process. Key Responsibilities:

• Source and evaluate fabrics, trims, and accessories from a variety of suppliers, ensuring they meet quality and design specifications.
• Collaborate closely with design and merchandising teams to select materials that align with product aesthetics and brand standards.
• Assist in managing the development process from sourcing to final delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms to achieve cost-effective solutions.
• Conduct market research to stay updated on trends and innovations in fabrics and accessories.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to sourcing, samples, and inventory management.
• Support the team in product presentations and internal meetings.

Requirements:

• Form 5 (or equivalent) or above; higher education is not mandatory.
• Previous experience in merchandising or sourcing is preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, and accessories, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
• Fluent in Cantonese with good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams and suppliers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for fashion and a strong desire to learn and grow within the industry.
