Assistant Nurse

Job summary

We are seeking a registered nurse with at least one year of post-qualification experience to work as an Assistant School Nurse on Lagos Mainland, starting immediately. Accommodation and feeding will be provided. Previous experience as a school nurse is strongly desired.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Provide first aid, basic nursing care, and initial assessment of sick or injured students.
• Assist the Senior Nurse and Physician in managing students requiring medical attention and appropriate referrals.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and maintain accurate health records.
• Provide health education and health talks to students on relevant preventive health topics.
• Support health screenings, immunization programs, and other school and field-based health projects.
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and support the overall health and safety of students.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid practicing license.
• Minimum of one year of post-qualification clinical experience.
• Previous experience as a school nurse is strongly preferred.
• Good clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with adolescents, school staff, parents, and other healthcare professionals.
• Willingness to participate in school and field-based health activities.
