Massage Envy Johnson City is seeking an energetic, accountable Assistant Manager to help lead daily operations, support membership growth, develop community relationships, and assist with recruiting and team performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable with measurable goals, and wants the opportunity to grow within the wellness industry.

The Assistant Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager and serves as the acting on-site manager when the Operations Manager is not present.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage front-desk operations during assigned shifts
• Support membership sales, rebooking, referrals, and guest retention
• Coach and support front-desk staff
• Assist with schedules, call-outs, and daily coverage
• Help fill open therapist and esthetician appointments
• Handle guest concerns professionally
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training
• Open and close the location as scheduled
• Provide clear daily reporting to the Operations Manager
• Maintain a professional, positive, and accountable workplace

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

This role will be actively involved throughout Johnson City and the Tri-Cities.

Responsibilities include:

• Attend Chamber, networking, wellness, and community events
• Build relationships with local employers, healthcare providers, gyms, colleges, senior communities, salons, and other organizations
• Coordinate community promotions, lunch-and-learns, and wellness events
• Develop referral and business partnerships
• Represent Massage Envy professionally throughout the community
• Generate new guests, memberships, referrals, and recruiting opportunities

MEASURABLE PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

• Help generate at least 10 new memberships per week, with a goal of 12–15 as staffing grows
• Support approximately 50–60 new memberships per month
• Participate in at least 2 community outreach activities, business visits, networking events, or partnership meetings per week
• Develop new referral relationships each month
• Support LMT recruiting and candidate follow-up
• Help improve guest rebooking and retention
• Help reduce open provider hours and fill cancellations
• Provide timely and accurate performance reporting

COMPENSATION & COMMISSION OPPORTUNITY

Base salary is $38,000–$40,000 annually, plus benefits.

Performance commissions and bonuses are tied to measurable results including:

• Membership growth
• Community outreach
• Guest retention and rebooking
• Recruiting
• Front-desk performance
• Overall location growth

A successful performer should have an expected total compensation opportunity of approximately $46,000–$53,000 annually.

Employees are also eligible for a $500 referral bonus for each successful Licensed Massage Therapist referral who meets program requirements.

• A motivated recent college graduate in business, marketing, hospitality, healthcare, wellness, communications, or a related field

• Someone with 5+ years of experience in the Tri-Cities in healthcare, wellness, fitness, hospitality, medical services, community relations, sales, or another service-related field
