Assistant Operations Supervisor

Plaza Hotel Downtown is seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Operations Supervisor to assist with overseeing the daily operations of four establishments: Mulligans, Oak & Barrel, Plaza Liquor Store, and Greenloops Cannabis.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and experience in hospitality or retail management. This is a hands-on position requiring flexibility, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily operations across both bars, the liquor store, and the cannabis store.
• Supervise, train, and support employees while maintaining high performance standards.
• Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and operational coverage.
• Monitor inventory, ordering, stock levels, and cost control.
• Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns.
• Oversee cash handling, POS operations, and daily sales reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with liquor, cannabis, and workplace regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, increase sales, and reduce expenses.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational standards across all establishments.
• Report operational concerns and performance updates to senior management.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or management experience in hospitality, food and beverage, or retail.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with inventory management, scheduling, and POS systems.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Serving It Right and Selling It Right certifications, or willingness to obtain them as required.
