Job Title: Assistant Pantry Manager

Supervisor: Director of Client Services

Compensation: $19.25/hour, 40 hours weekly, plus applicable benefits

Position Overview: The Assistant Pantry Manager supports Sharing Life’s food pantry services and oversees the evening pantry hours. The Assistant Pantry Manager helps maintains pantry inventory and stock levels. This individual works closely with other Client Services staff and volunteers to maintain access to nutritious food for the pantry. We strive for Sharing Life’s food pantry to not just be a last resort when someone is hungry, but a planned budgeting tool for low-income families in our community and the Pantry Manager must be able to identify and implement strategies to encourage nutritious food choices and provide convenient, efficient access to food for our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and sufficient inventory of product in the client-choice food pantry
• Provide daily supervision to volunteers, interns, and AmeriCorps members assigned to pantry duties
• Provide excellent customer service to our pantry clients
• Oversee the evening food pantry
• Accurately track and log daily activities
• Maintain a clean pantry, free of hazards and potential food safety issues
• Safely operate warehouse equipment, including fork lifts and pallet jacks
• Ensure pantry goals are met based on the Sharing Life Strategic Plan
• Recognize and adhere to all local, state, and federal safety requirements
• Candidates must submit to background check and have a clear driving record

Education and Experience

• Food pantry or stocking experience
• Forklift experience strongly preferred
• Must have ability to work evenings (M-Th 11:00a-7:30p, F 8:30a-5:00p)
• Must be able to direct volunteers of various skill levels
• Fluent in Spanish highly preferred

Physical Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. The employee may lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $19.25 per hour
