Assistant Pastry Chef

We are a small, upscale boutique bake shoppe in the beautiful seaside town of Spring Lake, NJ, seeking a talented and dependable full-time Assistant Pastry Chef / Baker to join our team.

Working alongside our Head Pastry Chef, you’ll help produce a variety of high-quality pastries, baked goods, and specialty items in a creative, fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a baker who takes pride in their craft and wants to continue developing their skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily pastry and bakery production
• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, croissants, scones, muffins, cakes, bars, and specialty items
• Follow recipes, prep lists, and production schedules
• Maintain high standards for quality, consistency, and presentation
• Work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen with limited space
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and sanitary
• Communicate effectively and contribute to a positive team environment

Qualifications

• Culinary education or a minimum of 1 year of professional pastry/bakery experience
• Solid foundation in baking and pastry techniques
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Excellent work ethic and reliability
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Comfortable taking direction and working as part of a team
• Desire to learn and grow professionally
