• Home Service & Domiciliary Care Duties

​When delivering care in a patient's home environment (e.g., post-stroke rehabilitation, geriatric mobility care, post-surgical recovery), student duties expand to include:

• ​Portable Equipment Setup & Safety Check: Preparing, testing, and safely transporting mobile electrotherapy devices, exercise bands, and diagnostic tools before home visits.
• ​Home Environmental Safety Assessment: Inspecting the living space for fall hazards (e.g., loose rugs, poor lighting, slippery flooring, lack of grab rails) and recommending home modifications.
• ​Bedside & In-Home Rehabilitation: Guiding bed-to-chair transfers, stair climbing, walking re-education, and activities of daily living (ADL) training using the patient’s home environment.
• ​Caregiver & Family Training: Educating family members or home aides on safe handling, manual lifting techniques, daily passive stretch routines, and positioning to prevent bedsores.
• ​Remote Supervisor Liaison: Communicating home visit findings, patient responses, or unexpected status changes (e.g., sudden blood pressure spike, pain flare-ups) to the consultant physiotherapist prior to altering any routine.

​3. Patient Education & Mobility Training

• ​Gait & Transfer Training: Assisting patients with walking re-education using ambulatory aids (walkers, quad-canes, crutches).
• ​Home Exercise Programs (HEP): Designing and demonstrating tailored home exercise sheets or charts for sustained independent practice.
• ​Fall Prevention Strategies: Educating elderly or frail patients on balance retention, posture, and energy conservation techniques.

​4. Professional Documentation & Reporting

• ​SOAP Note Drafting: Documenting daily subjective feedback, objective measurements, interventions given, and progress plans for supervisor review and co-signature.
• ​Case History Presentation: Discussing clinical progress and functional goals during departmental rounds or academic case reviews.
• ​Outcome Measurement: Tracking functional recovery using validated tools (e.g., Berg Balance Scale, Barthel Index, Visual Analog Scale).

​5. Compliance & Departmental Standards

• ​Supervision Limits: Performing home visits only with direct supervisor presence or under structured clinical internship protocols with approved case clearance.
• ​Informed Consent & Professional Ethics: Securing explicit consent from the patient/family upon arrival at home, respecting privacy, and adhering to strict infection control and sanitation protocols.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
