With a strong focus on innovation, quality, technology, and customer satisfaction, we serve commercial buildings, healthcare, hospitality, airports, educational institutions, retail spaces, and industrial establishments across India.
We are looking for a proactive and result-oriented Assistant Manager Plant to manage day-to-day production operations, shop-floor execution, assembly lines, material coordination, quality, and productivity at our manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Shop-Floor Operations
- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans in line with PPC schedules and customer delivery commitments.
- Supervise fabrication, welding, grinding, polishing, powder coating coordination, assembly, testing, and packing operations.
- Allocate manpower, machines, tools, and resources to achieve production targets.
- Monitor production output, identify bottlenecks, and ensure timely completion of orders.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, production records, and shop-floor safety standards.
2. PPC & Stores Coordination
- Coordinate with PPC to align production schedules, priorities, and material requirements.
- Ensure the availability of raw materials, bought-out components, packaging materials, and consumables before production starts.
- Conduct daily shortage reviews with PPC and Stores and follow up on pending materials.
- Monitor WIP, material consumption, inventory accuracy, material issuance, returns, rejections, and scrap.
- Track planned versus actual production and material consumption.
3. Product Assembly & Testing
- Supervise assembly operations for hand dryers, automatic soap dispensers, and automatic sensor taps.
- Oversee the integration of ready-made PCBs, motors, sensors, pumps, solenoid valves, wiring harnesses, power supplies, and mechanical components. PCB manufacturing is not part of this role.
- Ensure the availability and use of approved BOMs, assembly drawings, work instructions, tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Monitor line balancing, assembly productivity, component handling, wiring accuracy, and first-time-right production.
- Ensure products undergo prescribed electrical safety, functional, sensor-response, water-flow/leakage, and appearance checks before packing.
4. Quality & Process Improvement
- Coordinate with Quality to reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
- Identify recurring production issues and support root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
- Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and visual management practices on the shop floor.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, process parameters, and documented work instructions.
- Train operators on standard processes and quality requirements.
5. Productivity, Cost & Maintenance
- Monitor labour productivity, production cycle time, material yield, scrap, and consumable usage.
- Identify opportunities to improve output, reduce wastage, and optimize production costs.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with the Maintenance team.
- Ensure production machines, tools, jigs, and fixtures are maintained and available for use.
- Track downtime and follow up on corrective actions to minimize production interruptions.
6. Team Management & Coordination
- Supervise production supervisors, line in-charges, operators, helpers, and contract manpower.
- Allocate daily targets, monitor performance, and ensure accountability for output and quality.
- Maintain manpower deployment, attendance, shift schedules, discipline, and housekeeping.
- Coordinate with PPC, Stores, Purchase, Quality, Maintenance, NPD, and Dispatch for smooth production flow.
- Support skill development, cross-training, and performance improvement of shop-floor employees.
