Assistant PreK Teacher

Job Summary
Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Pre K Assistant Teacher at Grays Ferry Early Learning Academy, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help nurture young learners during their foundational years. In this role, you will support the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes early childhood development. Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning activities
• Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a respectful, inclusive environment for all children
• Engage with children through play, storytelling, arts and crafts, and hands-on activities to promote cognitive and social development
• Help monitor and document each child's progress and developmental milestones to inform ongoing instruction
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children's daily experiences and developmental progress

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of a Preschool CDA, AA/AS in Early Childhood preferred or related field
• Speak Spanish a plus
• Prior experience working with young children in PreK is highly preferred
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families
• Ability to assist in lesson planning for literacy education, math readiness, and overall curriculum development
• Demonstrated classroom management skills to foster a positive learning atmosphere

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.75 - $18.00 per hour
