Whittmore Learning Academy is hiring a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our team!

Position Details

• Job Type: Full-time
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Shift: Day shift
• Pay: Starting at $13.00 per hour, with the opportunity for higher pay based on education and experience

Qualifications

Required:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current background check, work physical, and TB test results on or before your first day of employment

Preferred:

• North Carolina Early Childhood Credential (EDU-119)
• One year of experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool
• CPR and First Aid certification
• ITS-SIDS certification
• ITERS and ECERS certification

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Preschool Teacher, you will:

• Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
• Help create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment
• Support age-appropriate learning activities and experiences
• Assist with observing and documenting children's progress and development
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Communicate effectively with parents, children, and staff
• Support appropriate classroom management and behavior expectations
• Help keep the classroom clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations
• Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
• Work collaboratively with the lead teacher and teaching team to provide high-quality early childhood education
