Assistant Primary Teacher

Petoskey Montessori Children's House is located in Petoskey, MI and serves children as young as 2 months old in our Saplings Community to our Primary classroom preschoolers and all ages in between. Our goal is to uplift each other, work together, and uphold the educational standards Maria Montessori pioneered over 114 years ago. We believe in a holistic approach to Montessori education, combining academics, practical life, sensorial exercises and mixed age groups, allowing each child to express their unique gifts, interests and abilities.

Petoskey Montessori Children’s House has a part-time and full-time opening for an Assistant Teacher for the Primary Classroom, which serves children 3-6 years old. Responsibilities include assisting the classroom teacher in implementing lessons, observing, assisting with the children, toileting, maintenance of the environment, and some record keeping. Some early childhood education desirable.

We offer paid time off, plus paid breaks (Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring), which comes out to nearly 5 weeks paid time off per year. We also offer tuition assistance, professional development and medical, dental and vision benefits.

Applicants must be able to pass a fingerprint background check, be able to lift up to 30 pounds, and get up and down from the floor easily.
