What they need
About the role
We are looking for an Assistant Procurement Manager to lead our procurement and contracts function from start to finish — finding the right suppliers, running tenders, and drafting, negotiating and administering the contracts that govern how our suppliers and contractors work with us. The role makes sure everything our operations need, from equipment, materials and spare parts to drilling, maintenance and support services, is delivered on time, at the right price, and under terms that protect the company. It covers both major projects and day-to-day operational buying.
Key responsibilities
- Run the full tender process from preparing bid documents and inviting suppliers, through technical and commercial evaluation, negotiation of price, payment terms, delivery, warranties and penalties, to the award recommendation
- Draft, review and finalise service contracts, supply agreements, frame agreements and purchase orders with Legal; ensure scope, rates, payment milestones, liabilities, insurance and safety obligations are clearly covered; and administer contracts through their full life including variations, claims, renewals, the contract register and close-out
- Screen, approve and register suppliers including safety, financial and background checks; monitor and review their performance on delivery, quality, safety and compliance; and build strong working relationships that resolve issues quickly
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Finance and Warehouse to understand their needs and timing, expedite deliveries, coordinate shipping and customs for long lead-time items, and maintain the right stock levels of critical materials
- Ensure every purchase and contract follows company approval limits, procurement procedures, anti-bribery policy and industry regulations, with complete and accurate records kept in the company system to support internal and external audits
- Prepare the annual procurement plan in line with operating and maintenance schedules, manage the procurement budget, drive cost savings and value across each spending category, and report performance to management
About you
