Assistant Product Manager | Part Time (25 hours per week)

We have an exciting, market-leading product roadmap, with multiple major launches next year, and need an organised, hands on product person to help bring them to market.

About the role

This is a hands on role in our Marketing Team, reporting directly to the Managing Director. You'll get our products ready for market, support the roadmap and new product development, and make sure the product information the whole business relies on is accurate.

We run a narrow, considered product range, with 4 to 6 launches a year, so you'll know every product inside out.

You'll work very closely with our Product Marketing Specialist and broader marketing team of 8 specialists, as well as our Design and Operations teams and offshore suppliers.

Part-time details: 25 hours a week across 5 shorter days, 9:00am to 3:00pm, with Monday, Wednesday and Thursday in our Zetland office and Tuesday and Friday from home.

What you'll do

• Manage product testing, warning labels and compliance with the relevant standards
• Manage packaging and product guides
• Liaise daily with our offshore suppliers via WeChat and email, and arrange product samples
• Coordinate user trials, surveys and pilot production runs, and prepare ECNs for product changes
• Support the Managing Director with the roadmap, sourcing and NPD timelines
• Manage award and certification submissions
• Keep product specifications, pricelists and review listings accurate
• Brief the marketing team on product changes and send a monthly product update to the business
• Compile SKU, sales and review data, and research competitor products and pricing
• Gather product feedback from Customer Care, warranty reports and reviews, and assist with resolving product issues
• Prepare product presentations for the Marketing Team

About you

• You're organised, proactive and love getting the detail right
• 2+ years as an Assistant Product/Category Manager or similar role
• Consumer goods experience, ideally consumer durables
• Strong writing skills, as you'll provide input into all customer facing product messaging
• Strong analytical skills, and confident with Excel and Word
• Experience with product compliance, testing or supplier liaison is highly regarded
• A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related field
• Great with people, from our own team to suppliers and factories
• A true passion for the baby goods category
