Assistant Production Manager

Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities: Native Packaging is seeking a hands-on Assistant Production Manager to support daily operations in our pet treat packaging facility. We package premium pet products, utilizing automated filling and packaging equipment.

This position requires an individual who can lead by example on the production floor while assisting the Production Manager with overseeing daily operations. The Assistant Production Manager will help ensure production goals are met, employees remain productive and engaged, quality standards are maintained, and all required production documentation is completed accurately.

• Work directly on automated filling and packaging lines while helping oversee daily production activities.
• Assist in supervising production employees and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
• Monitor employee performance and help maintain productivity throughout each shift.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and support to team members.
• Assist with production scheduling, line staffing, and workflow coordination.
• Complete and review production paperwork, batch records, quality checks, and other required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Troubleshoot minor production issues and escalate concerns to the Production Manager when necessary.
• Assist with inventory control, material staging, and production reporting.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready production environment.
• Serve as a backup to the Production Manager when needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of production experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or packaging environment.
• Previous lead, team lead, shift lead, or supervisory experience required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and direct employees.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to complete paperwork accurately and maintain detailed production records.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Dependable, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and work on the production floor for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Comfortable working around automated production and packaging equipment.

Position Type: Full-Time

Schedule: 1st Shift: Monday–Friday 8 am-5 pm, with overtime as needed

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
