About Us
Sky Blue Chemical is a third-generation, family-owned liquid chemical manufacturer founded in 1963. We specialize in custom blending, toll blending, and private-label manufacturing, including car wash chemistry and our Carlavo line. We’re a team of about 45 people who take pride in getting the product right and getting it out the door on time.

The Role
We’re looking for an organized, hands-on Assistant Production Manager to support our Production Manager and keep the floor running smoothly. You’ll help drive the daily production schedule, own label inventory and printing, and serve as the final quality sign-off on finished goods before anything is warehoused or shipped. This is a great fit for someone who likes being on the floor, solving problems in real time, and taking ownership of the details that make a plant run well.

What You’ll Do

Production Support

• Support the Production Manager in planning, scheduling, and executing daily and weekly production
• Keep the production schedule moving: anticipate bottlenecks, coordinate changeovers, and communicate delays early
• Coordinate with blending, packaging, warehouse, and shipping to keep orders on track
• Step in to lead the floor when the Production Manager is unavailable
• Help train production staff and reinforce safe, consistent work practices

Label Management

• Own label inventory: track usage, maintain stock levels, and reorder before shortages hit production
• Operate and maintain label printers, including setup, troubleshooting, and supplies
• Verify label accuracy (product, lot, regulatory and customer-specific requirements) before each run

Finished Goods Quality Control

• Verify each packaging line is set up correctly before production starts (correct product, packaging, labels, and lot coding)
• Inspect and approve every pallet of finished goods before it moves to the warehouse or ships
• Place holds on nonconforming product and work with the Production Manager to resolve issues
• Maintain accurate QC records and documentation

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, or packaging (chemical, food, or consumer products a plus)
• Experience with quality checks, line setups, or production scheduling
• Strong attention to detail; you catch the wrong label before it ships
• Comfortable working with ERP or inventory systems (NetSuite experience a plus)
• Clear communicator who works well under a lead and can direct others when needed
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment
• Forklift experience a plus

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
