Assistant Professor – Mathematics

Position Overview
Northern University Nowshera is seeking a qualified, experienced, and dedicated Assistant Professor in Mathematics for its Department of Mathematics. The selected candidate will deliver academic instruction, conduct research, supervise students, and contribute to curriculum development and accreditation compliance (HEC).

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics courses at BS and MS/MPhil levels
• Develop and review course outlines, lesson plans, and assessment tools in line with HEC standards
• Supervise student projects and research theses
• Conduct research and publish in HEC-recognized journals
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning, and quality assurance processes
• Support examinations, grading, and academic record maintenance
• Mentor students and junior faculty

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related discipline (HEC recognized)
• Experience: Post-PhD teaching and research experience preferred; candidates with a strong publication record are encouraged to apply

Skills & Competencies

• Strong command of Mathematics, with specialization in a core area such as analysis, algebra, differential equations, or numerical methods
• Research orientation with a publication record
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Familiarity with HEC standards
• Team-oriented with a professional attitude
• Proficiency in MS Office and academic technologies (LaTeX, MATLAB, or similar is an advantage)
