Assistant Professor of Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track, Assistant Professor whose research spans condensed matter physics and quantum information science, beginning September 1, 2027. We seek a theoretical physicist with expertise in quantum information science, including quantum computing. Areas of particular interest include quantum algorithms, quantum simulation, quantum transduction, and quantum sensing. A central expectation of this position is to forge new research connections among quantum research efforts across the university. This position is part of a broader hiring effort to strengthen quantum research at Texas Tech and promote new collaborations across the university.
