Role Description

An Assistant Professor / Professor is responsible for teaching, academic research, curriculum development, student supervision, and contributing to the academic and professional development of the institution. The role involves delivering high-quality lectures, conducting research, supporting students, participating in academic activities, and contributing to departmental and institutional objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops, and practical sessions in the assigned academic discipline.
• Develop and update course materials, syllabi, lesson plans, presentations, and learning resources.
• Design and deliver engaging, effective, and student-focused teaching methods.
• Assess student learning through examinations, assignments, projects, presentations, and other academic activities.
• Provide academic guidance, mentoring, advising, and support to students.
• Supervise undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students where applicable.
• Conduct original research and contribute to academic publications, conferences, and scholarly activities.
• Prepare and publish research papers in reputable academic journals and publications.
• Participate in research projects, grants, collaborations, and academic partnerships.
• Contribute to curriculum development, academic program reviews, and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, examinations, and institutional activities.
• Maintain accurate student, teaching, assessment, research, and academic records.
• Collaborate with faculty members, researchers, industry professionals, and external academic institutions.
• Support student projects, dissertations, theses, internships, and research activities.
• Stay updated with developments, research, technologies, and best practices within the academic discipline.
• Contribute to accreditation, academic quality assurance, and institutional compliance requirements.
• Support continuous improvement of teaching quality, research performance, student outcomes, academic standards, and institutional development .

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD degree in the relevant academic discipline, depending on the position and institutional requirements.
• Previous university or higher-education teaching experience is preferred.
• Strong academic background and subject-matter expertise in the relevant field.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching, curriculum development, assessment, and student supervision.
• Research experience with publications in recognized academic journals is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of current theories, practices, technologies, and developments within the discipline.
