Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

Columbia University’s Department of Political Science seeks to fill a position in the Politics of the Middle East, with a joint appointment in the Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies, to begin July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will hold a primary appointment in Political Science along with an appointment in IIJS, and will teach in the undergraduate program, including a course for undergraduates in the politics of the Middle East. The successful candidate will also train and mentor graduate students.

Ph.D. in Political Science required. We seek scholars in any area of Political Science (e.g., comparative politics, international politics, political theory) with an outstanding publication record and who have ongoing research, including but not limited to work relevant to Israel and the broader Middle East and North Africa region. Preference is for a senior scholar, but the search is open-rank.
