Assistant Program Director

Tampa Youth Development Group is a new and exciting youth fitness and development organization seeking a high-energy Assistant Program Director to help lead our Tampa location.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves working with kids and families, enjoys coaching and developing a team, and wants the opportunity to grow into a larger leadership role as our organization expands.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $45,000, with flexibility depending on experience in leadership, operations, sales, or youth programming.

Monthly Performance Bonus:

• Milestone 1: +$500/month ($6,000/year)
• Milestone 2: +$750/month ($9,000/year)
• Milestone 3: +$1,000/month ($12,000/year)
• Milestone 4: +$1,750/month ($21,000/year)

What You'll Do

As Assistant Program Director, you'll work closely with the Program Director to help lead the team, deliver an exceptional experience for families, and drive the overall success of the center.

• This is a highly active, hands-on position that combines coaching, leadership, sales, and day-to-day operations.
• Coach and actively participate in youth programming sessions throughout the week
• Help lead, support, and develop a team of youth fitness instructors
• Assist with staff scheduling, training, and maintaining strong program standards
• Engage with prospective and current families to drive membership sales and retention
• Help create an exceptional member experience from the moment families walk through the door
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and development of new team members
• Help manage daily center operations and maintain a clean, organized facility
• Step in to lead center operations when the Program Director is unavailable
• Support community events, partnerships, and local enrollment initiatives
• Partner with the Program Director and ownership team on center performance and growth goals

Who We're Looking For

• 1-3+ years of experience in coaching, youth programming, fitness, sales, customer service, operations, or team leadership
• Background in youth programming, fitness, athletics, coaching, or education strongly preferred
• Natural leader who enjoys coaching and motivating both kids and adults
• Strong communicator who can build relationships with families and teammates
• Comfortable with membership sales and having conversations with prospective families
• Weekend availability required
• Positive, motivated, dependable, and genuinely passionate about kids' development
• Interested in growing into increased leadership responsibility over time
• Background in youth programming, fitness, coaching, or education strongly preferred
• Strong communicator who can lead a team and build relationships with families
• Weekend availability required as this role requires full ownership of the center
• Positive, motivated, and mission-driven - you genuinely care about kids' development

Certifications Required

The following certifications can be obtained after hire:

• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• EpiPen Certification

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain active and energetic throughout the workday
• Comfortable leading and demonstrating physical activities with children
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
